Japanese biopharmaceutical company Takeda celebrates 60 years in Mexico with investment in manufacturing and innovation
This year, Takeda, the Japanese biopharmaceutical company with 243 years of history, celebrates six decades of presence in Mexico, where it has established an unwavering commitment to patients and the country's healthcare ecosystem. Since its arrival in 1964, Takeda has evolved from offering primary care products to become a leader in high specialty treatments.

Mexico stands out as the first country in which Takeda established commercial operations, a manufacturing plant and an innovation center, the Innovation Capability Center (ICC), one of three worldwide. This recent inauguration underscores the company's commitment to the country and its desire to continue investing in infrastructure and local talent. Composed of more than 1,000 people collaborating, the highest quality standard and cutting-edge technology to please the need of Mexican market and export to Latin America.

Mexico has become Takeda's second most important market in Latin America, behind only Brazil, and one of the leading markets in the Emerging Markets region, reflecting sustained double-digit growth in recent years. The company plans to continue this trend with the introduction of new therapies, including nearly 25 new molecules currently in the clinical phase.


On its anniversary, Takeda reaffirmed its commitment to Mexico, celebrating not only its Japanese heritage and success in the country, but also its vision for the future, focused on innovation and the well-being of Mexican society.
